Our Beginnings
Edited for length, this story originally appeared in the Twin Cities’ Sun-Sailor Newspapers …
Maid For a Day House Cleaning is a local, family owned and operated company that offers exceptional quality cleaning and customer service.
This Edina-based service company was started in 2005 by owner/managers Carolyn, Julie and Holly. After graduating from the College of St. Catherine’s in 2004 with their bachelor degrees, identical twins Julie and Carolyn spent a year working for other people during the day and worked at night thinking about what kind of business they could start and run themselves. Eventually the business plan for a house cleaning company began to emerge. With help from their mother (Holly), the company was incorporated in June, 2005 and the first ad appeared shortly thereafter. Waiting anxiously for the phone to ring, it took one day before they had their first housecleaning job. Today, Maid For A Day House Cleaning has prospered considerably beyond their original expectations and employs several other full-time people.
As a family owned and operated firm, Julie, Carolyn, Holly and all their team mates only settle for excellent work and excellent customer service. Everyone is in uniforms, and arrives in company cars proudly marked with Maid For A Day House Cleaning logos so all are easily identifiable.
Every team comes with all its own equipment (including stepladders to reach ceiling fans) and supplies. The supplies themselves are from Ecolab which is one of the most trusted names for cleaning, food safety and infection prevention products.
Julie, Carolyn and Holly’s customers think so well of them that the company has been awarded Angie’s List’s Super Service Award.
